Temi Levy, Artist When I found out I was pregnant, I began envisioning a nursery like the one in Father of the Bride II. You know, the one with sunlight streaming into a sea of stuffed animals and every gorgeous knick-knack a child could ever want or need. The one that leaves Steve Martin overjoyed and awestruck (until he takes a look at the price tag on a plush rabbit).
For the most part, it was an easy process. I found just the right bedding, furniture, and wall color, not to mention diapers, wipes and diaper pail baggies. But when it came to finding art, I was left feeling unsatisfied. Everything was too primary or too pastel, too ordinary or too posh, too bizarre or too sophisticated, too, well, just too too.
Frustrated, I bought some paint and canvas, cleared the dining room table, and created what I hoped would be exactly what I couldn’t find anywhere else.
I did, just in time for the birth of my daughter.
Soon after that, I gave birth again. To Pink Bumblebees — Little Paintings for Little People.
In a sea of overwhelming choices and products available for babies and expectant moms, I hope you’ll see Pink Bumblebees as an oasis of simple, sweet artwork that’s just right for your nursery. I’m delighted to help you during this exciting time.
